Donor Recognition

You Strengthen Our Community

Giving Societies

The Fidelis Society celebrates and recognizes our most loyal donors – those alumni and friends who have made a gift for 10+ consecutive years. In addition, young alumni who have made a gift every year since graduation are recognized as members of the Fidelis Society. Parents of current students are members of the Fidelis Society if they make a gift every year since their first BLS student entered Latin School.

Head of School Society

The Head of School Society recognizes donors who invest at the $1,635 level and higher with unique opportunities to gain an even closer connection to Latin School through exclusive invitations, communications, and opportunities. Graduates of the past 14 years have a special opportunity to participate in the Head of School Society with gifts ranging from $16.35 for our youngest alumni to $635 for those who have been out of school for at least 10 years.

The 1635 Society honors and thanks those alumni, families, faculty/staff, and friends who have had the foresight to provide for the future support of BLS through the BLSA. By naming the BLSA in their wills, pension plans, insurance policies, and life-income gifts, society members ensure that the Latin School community will remain strong in its mission.

The Contompasis Cup - Class Competition

The Contompasis Cup, established in 2012 in honor of Headmaster Emeritus Michael Contompasis ’57, celebrates class identity and participation. The Cup is awarded annually to classes with the highest percentage of donors in a non-reunion year.

Endowed Funds and Scholarships

The Boston Latin School Association actively manages more than 150 named endowed funds, other charitable funds, and scholarships to ensure that donor intentions are met and that the assets of these funds grow.  Program funding continues to be the greatest need for students at BLS, and donors are encouraged to consider this in their philanthropy. The minimum to establish a named endowment is $50,000, and donors will receive annual updates on their fund, including detailed information of fund appreciation and illustrations of how income from the fund was spent during the fiscal year.

Founders' Gallery

The Founders' Gallery recognizes those donors who have made Boston Latin School a priority in their philanthropy and have made gifts – most often over the course of many years – totaling $1 million or more. The Founders' Gallery is located outside the main office and includes a photo and description of each supporter and the programs they make possible for the school.

Prima Perpetua Donor Wall

Lead donors to the Prima Perpetua Campaign are featured on a permanent donor wall located near the school's front entrance. Leadership gifts at various tiers, beginning at the $50,000 level through $5 million, are listed and updated on a semi-annual basis. These generous gifts made by alumni and friends of BLS are inspiring and provide momentum to realize the full potential for Latin School's future. Donors who gave to the Pons Privatus Campaign are also listed on a permanent donor wall located by the Alma Mater statue.
