Wolk Innovation Center
A Prima Perpetua Campaign gift by Deanna and Sidney Wolk ’53, founder, chairman & CEO of The Cross Country Group, has established The Wolk Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at BLS. Its mission is to support programs at the school that encourage innovation and entrepreneurial ventures at the school.

The Center supports BLS student involvement in the after-school Babson College Boston Challenge, a program that helps enterprising students turn their ideas into action. During the 2015 competition eight BLS teams participated and our students earned the Problem Solver Award and 2nd runner up to the Boston Cup. In May 2014, BLS fielded five teams in the challenge earning 3 of 4 awards conferred, including the inaugural Boston Cup first place award.

The Senior Capstone: Advanced Research and Presentation program at Boston Latin is also supported by the Wolk Center. Launched in the 2014-2015 academic year, the Senior Capstone elective course enables senior students (a) to explore a central question tied to a topic in which the student is deeply engaged, (b) over the course of the year, to produce an ambitious, deeply researched project, and (c) to publicly present their work to the broader school community in much anticipated TEDx-style talks annually in May. As of September 2021, more than 150 students have participated in the program and been recognized for doing so at Awards Night and graduation.
